Install Clamping Bar

Tube frame diameter 1.125" − 1.250”, Frame width 10" − 14.5".

Tube frame diameter 1.250" − 1.375" Frame Width 10" − 14.5".

Tube frame diameter 1.375" − 1.500" Frame width 10" − 14.5".

1. Identify clamping location. The Biker Bar is

designed to clamp onto the tubed frame of the
motorcycle behind the down tubes, see reference in
figure A1. Use the guide below to find an ideal
location for positioning the clamping bar to your bike.
(Refer to the Biker Bar application chart for bike and
bar model number reference, available at
www.turnoverball.com)

Tube frame diameter 1.250" − 1.375" Frame width 4.5" − 7".

Install Biker Bar Base

Install Clamping bar onto bike. Position the
clamping bar at the appropriate location around the
frame and tighten with the handle until the clamp is
secure.

2.

Note: On 1999 and newer touring bikes, the kick
stand is too long to clear the Biker Bar and will have to
be manually picked up and placed on top of the
clamping bar.

CAUTION: The Biker Bar is designed to secure a
bike in−line with the direction of travel only.
Serious injury and/or property damage may occur
if the bike is in a different orientation than in−line
with the direction of travel.

Clamp the biker bar towards
the front of the frame just
behind the down tubes, see
figure A8. Offset the base of
the biker bar 1" to the right of
the bikes center. Some
wires may need to be moved
to the inside of the frame
tube to clear the Biker Bar.

Measure base installation location. Measure the
approximate distance from the clamping bar to a fixed
position on the front of the trailer, see figure B1.

3.

Verify and mark base installation location.
Remove the bike from the trailer. Place the Biker Bar
base onto the trailer. Subtract 4" from the
measurement you made earlier (Distance A).
Measure this distance from the same fixed location as
before and make a mark, see figure B2. Position the
Biker Bar base on the marked line as shown in figure
B3. Double check that the base is square to the front
or rear of the trailer.

4.

Mark Base Bolt locations and Drill. Once the base
is in its final location, mark the two holes on either side
of the base in preparation for drilling the floor. Once
the locations are marked, with the aid of a tape
measure, check that the underside of the trailer is free
of any obstructions in the area to be drilled, such as,
cross members, wiring conduits, or tanks of any kind.
Next, position the base out of the way and Drill the
two marked locations with a 5/8" Drill

6.

2. Metal trailer beds (Optional). If your trailer bed is

diamond plate or other metal construction, it is
recommended that a 3/4" layer of plywood be installed
under the area where the Biker Bar base will be
bolted. This will allow a snug installation of the base
against the trailer floor.

5. Center the base. If installing a single Biker Bar on

the trailer, use a tape measure to center the Biker Bar
base in the middle of the trailer. If installing multiple
Biker Bars on the trailer, be sure to check that there is
adequate distance between the bases so that the
bikes will be clear of each other when riding into the
trailer.

7. Secure the base With the trailer mounting holes

drilled, Locate the 5/8"−11 x 2−1/2" bolts and the 5/8"
split lock washers. Place the base over the two newly
drilled holes and pass the 5/8" bolts with the 5/8" lock
washers into each hole, see figure B4. Next, locate the
two anchor plates. Each anchor plate will install under
the trailer with the welded nut turned toward the
ground. Start each anchor plate onto the 5/8" bolt
threads. Using the two 3/8" holes in each anchor plate,
fasten each anchor plate to the trailer using wood
screws or 3/8" bolts (depending on bed type), see
figure B5. Tighten the two 5/8" bolts securing the
Biker Bar base to the trailer.

Find base installation location. With the clamping
bar on your bike, ride the bike onto the trailer and find
the approximate location that your bike will be
clamped on the trailer.

1.

CAUTION: Installation of the clamping bar may
interfere with components of the bike which can
cause damage. Parts of the bike may need to be
moved or adjusted to allow space for the clamping
bar to be installed. This may include pulling hard
brake and/or hydraulic lines away from the frame,
re−positioning plastic cable ties, and moving parts
of wiring harnesses. Failure to clear objects from
around the clamping bar area may cause damage
to your bike.

V−Rod: Clamp the Biker Bar on the rear area of the
frame over the Allen screw which bolts the frame
together, see figure A6.
V−Rod − Street: Due to a longer kick stand, clamp the
Biker Bar behind the Allen screws. Then ride up to the
latching base and put the kick stand down. Ride into
the latches with the kickstand down, see figure A7.

CAUTION: The clamping bar can damage bike
components if they are caught between the
clamping bar jaws and the frame. Always check
that the jaws are clear of any obstructions before
tightening the clamping bar. Failure to check for
objects before every clamping bar installation may
cause damage to your bike.

CAUTION: Some trailers may have tanks and/or
pressurized lines. Failure to check under the
trailer for obstructions may be hazardous and
could cause serious injury.

MC2301: TOURING:

MC2302: SOFTAIL, DYNA, V−RODS,

MC2303: SPORTSTER,

MC2304: CUSTOMS:

The Biker Bar can be placed anywhere along the
bottom of the frame. Check that the chosen location
does not interfere with normal kick stand operation.

Dyna models: Clamp the biker bar towards the front
of the frame just behind the down tubes, see figure
A4.
Softail models: Clamp the biker bar further back on
the frame just behind or below the back the
transmission, see figure A5. In some cases the brake
line will need to be pulled away from the frame enough
to secure the clamp behind it.

Clamp the Biker Bar further back on the frame, just
behind the transmission as space allows, see figures
A2 and A3 for examples.
